Hi Reader,
In this week’s newsletter, we explore the intersection of Home Safety, Home Wellness and Aging In Place. We refer to this phenomena as a “Confluence of Innovation”, as these practice areas are becoming interwoven manifestations of underlying mega-trends.
Purgula has long stated that the “modern home” is vastly different than that of our parents and grandparents generations, for several reasons. Driven largely by changing lifestyles and a large, aging populace, homeowners are increasingly requiring their homes to “be more” by adapting to their changing needs and circumstances.
With over 22 million senior adults living alone in the U.S. and a large percentage of homeowners prefering to age in their own homes, innovative products and services — especially for solo agers — will be in high demand for years to come. In parallel, over recent years, higher interest rates have induced homeowners of all ages to stay put and maximize the functionality of their existing homes.
In both cases, we are optimistic that tech innovation will play an imperative part in these “stationary movements”.
