Wellness Strategies for Your Home

September 14, 2025

Hi Reader,

As part of our recent Wellness Month coverage, Purgula had the good fortune of engaging with acclaimed designer and TV personality Bobby Berk to explore the powerful connection between home design and personal wellness.

Known for his transformative work on Queer Eye and his collaborations with Tri Pointe Homes, Bobby shared with us how thoughtful, intentional design can do more than just beautify a space—it can genuinely elevate mental well-being.

In an age where health is being redefined beyond just fitness and nutrition—but also mental clarity, sensory balance, and emotional well-being—Bobby’s perspectives on wellness could not be more timely. As he reminds us:

"Good design is good for your mind."
— Bobby Berk, Interior Designer

Having recently explored Neuroaesthetics—the science behind wellness design—we understand that it can take time for scientific findings to become widely known and adopted.

However, in the case of Berk and Tri Pointe Homes, their partnership is making it easier for homebuyers to feel better in their new homes by offering a curated set of wellness-centric aesthetic collections. Called The BB Edit, this design collection consists of specific aesthetic styles that resonate with various tastes and lifestyles, facilitated by an intuitive Style Finder quiz.

This innovative approach helps prospective buyers quickly and confidently discover their unique aesthetic, essential for transforming a property into what “feels like home”—a vital aspect of home wellness.

As explored in other articles on Purgula.com, the home wellness movement goes well beyond yoga rooms and leafy plants. It includes thoughtfully integrating a wide-range of prioritized amenities, such as: infrared saunas, air purification systems, circadian lighting, and biophilic elements that foster indoor-outdoor harmony.

Berk reinforces that while these advanced features are important:

true wellness starts with design that calms, grounds, and connects us.

Even the humble act of maximizing natural light or decluttering a space can have profound emotional impacts.

Whether you’re planning a new build, renovating an older home, or simply seeking inspiration to make your space more aligned with your personal well-being, this interview—along with the articles below—offer both practical tools and transformative ideas to guide your journey.
