Hi Reader,
The topic of this week’s newsletter is Copper.
While investigating the many ways copper can be used in home décor, we became fascinated with this magical metal and wanted to share what we recently discovered, as well as rediscovered.
With our core editorial mission being Innovation, we admittedly can become biased towards “new” ideas, at the risk of undervaluing what already exists. Copper is a humbling example of the importance of understanding and retaining the historic legacy of such a miracle material.
Our deep dive into copper is yet another tie-in to the trend of self-sufficiency, as copper is an iconic symbol of multifaceted utility. This aged, weathered beauty deserves our respect and admiration. Copper remains modern, as well, playing an instrumental role within clean energy solutions and other emerging technologies.
When looking back in time for sources of innovation, inspiration, and valuable knowledge, we are reminded of a conversation we had with Andrea Polizzi, a modern Italian businessman entrenched in a world of centuries-old artistry. We’ll never forget how he lamented that technology makes it too easy for current generations to forget — or never learn — the many resilient skills and intuitive wisdom of our grandparents’ generation.
Similar to the diminishing ranks of seasoned home contractors and craftsmen, each day we are losing valuable knowledge that helped our forebears to thrive. We hope this week's collection of articles will inspire you to reach out to others as an opportunity to teach, share, learn and retain.
