Design & Construction Week 2025

March 9, 2025

Hi Reader,

If you missed the recent Design & Construction Week (DCW) event held in Las Vegas, fear not! We’ve curated a short list of our favorite innovative products from this year’s combined IBS and KBIS tradeshows.

The “fear of missing out” pertains to attendees, as well, since there is simply too many interesting exhibitors and products, across too expansive of a convention center, with never sufficient time to explore it all thoroughly.

Trust us, everyone leaves DCW feeling like they missed out on something – we just aren’t sure what exactly!

When exploring the showroom and arranging meetings, we are especially seeking products that can play important roles in emerging residential trends — be they inventions that can enhance existing products; or products that can revolutionize how a home is designed or used; or assistive technology products that empower homeowners, especially the elderly living on their own, independently.

To give you an idea of the types of products that excite us, here are three examples that fit into our “worthy” categories:

  • Lilypad Dehumidifying Paint: designed to be included in third-party paint products.
    Macro Trend: Home Wellness
  • Little Ladder Jumbo Step Ladder: super safe, and easy to use step ladders ideal for aging-in-place households.
Macro Trends: Home Safety & Aging-In-Place
  • Clopay Vertistack Avante Garage Door System: The IBS 2025 Best in Show product that opens up invaluable ceiling space within garages for new uses and functionality.
    Macro Trend: Transformable Design
